Class One improves fleet safety

Scotland’s leading provider of traffic management solutions is improving fleet safety and efficiency, thanks to a new mobile application with integrated telematics.

Class One Traffic Management Solutions required mobile apps as a paperless solution to help its workforce carry out daily equipment and vehicle checks. The Algorithm People created a suite of mobile apps for Class One, tailored to the company’s specific needs.

Debbie Watt of Class One said: “We pride ourselves on providing safe and effective traffic management services to all of our customers. Ensuring our own vehicles and equipment are monitored efficiently is therefore of paramount importance. The apps make the daily checks easy for our employees to use, reduce paperwork and provide a digital record.”

The Stirlingshire-based company also required vehicle tracking with driver behaviour analytics to help it cut costs, improve productivity, and enhance road safety. The Algorithm People provided Class One with an integrated telematics and camera solution which is proven to reduce accident rates by up to 39%, improve fuel economy by up to 10% and reduce instances of speeding by up to 35%.

“The Algorithm People listened to our needs and provided bespoke mobile apps specifically designed to our requirements,” added Debbie. “We are also benefiting from a comprehensive telematics package, which will help us to cut fleet fuel consumption and reduce road risk.”

With its head office in Newcastle upon Tyne, The Algorithm People provides fleet management and route optimisation solutions, which can deliver savings of up to 30 per cent compared to manually planning transport operations. These savings are achieved through a combination of increased efficiency, improved vehicle utilisation and lower total fleet mileage.

Colin Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer at The Algorithm People, said: “Class One had a very clear vision of how it wanted to further improve safety and efficiency. Our development capability and extensive experience in mobile apps and telematics enabled us to be really responsive to their needs.”

The Algorithm People offers a free consultation to fleets, to demonstrate the potential operational savings achieved by using its solutions.
